Quincy Tournament Champions
The Neuqua Valley High
School boys soccer program had another outstanding season in 2006. We
had five levels, freshman A and B, sophomore, junior varsity, and
varsity with one hundred twenty nine student athletes participating.
This is a new record for us. The program compiled an impressive overall
record of 80 wins 17 losses and 6 ties. We were the champions of six
invitational tournaments and won three Upstate Eight Conference
championships.
The Freshman B team, coached by Mike Williams went
11-7-1, competed in the Rockford Harlem Tournament which was an A
tournament and the Wildcat Soccer Freshman B Tournament. They were the
champions of the Wildcat Soccer Tournament.
The Freshman A team, coached by Andrew Himes and
Arnoldo Gonzales, 19-0-1 (8-0-0) This year's team went undefeated. They
won the Best of the West Tournament and the Neuqua Valley Invitational
Tournament. They were also champions of the Upstate Eight Conference.
The Sophomore team coached by Kevin Geers and Dave
Rosenberg, finished a very strong season with a record of 17-2-1 (9-0-1)
We were the champions of the Upstate Eight Conference and the Neuqua
Valley Soccer Tournament.
The Junior Varsity team, coached by Dan Fitzgerald went
17-3-1 (8-0-1) won the Rockford Hononegah JV Tournament , finished
fourth in the St Ignatus Soccer Tournament and were champions of the
Upstate Eight Conference.
The Varsity team coached by Jim Johns and Dan DiMarco
and Didi, finished with a record of 16-5-2 (6-2-2), We won the Quincy
Invitational Tournament for the first time and finished third in the
Upstate Eight Conference. We lost in the IHSA Regional Championship to
Naperville Central in penalty kicks. |
